Important Rostering Consideration

If your district changes its rostering method, student data will not automatically carry over to the new district instance on our platform. A new instance is created, so districts must plan to extract, preserve, and manage records and reporting before making any changes.

ClassLink

Districts using ClassLink can connect SPIRE Up through the EPS Connect app.

What this provides

  • Automated sharing of users (administrators, teachers, students)
  • Ongoing updates as data changes in your system
  • Flexibility to control which users are shared

Important to know

  • Classes shared through ClassLink are not visible to teachers in SPIRE Up
  • School administrators (and/or teachers) manually:
    • Create classes
    • Assign courses
    • Roster students

Clever

Districts using Clever can connect SPIRE Up through the EPS Connect app.

What this provides

  • Automated sharing of users (administrators, teachers, students)
  • Continuous updates from Clever
  • Optional filtering to limit shared users to those using SPIRE Up

Important to know

  • Classes shared through Clever are not used for instructional grouping
  • Students appear in a general list and are manually placed into classes
  • District, school administrators, and/or teachers:
  • Create classes
  • Assign courses
  • Roster students after placement testing

Manual Rostering

Districts may choose to roster without a data integration.

What this provides

  • Full control over user data and timing
  • No automated data syncing

Important to know

  • District administrators:
  • Upload student accounts using CSV files
  • Create classes
  • Roster students
  • Only requested administrator accounts are created by EPS
  • All ongoing rostering and class management is handled by the district
