How does a Student's Timing of Lessons Affect their Progress through the Program?

A student’s speed in the program can only positively impact a student’s progress through the program. Suppose a student successfully completes a lesson without errors and does so faster than the average student enrolled in the program. In that case, that student will receive a butterfly and advance to the next lesson in the lesson queue with a higher difficulty level.

This may sometimes mean that a student will skip a lesson on the same skill with a similar difficulty level. On the other hand, a student who completes a lesson but does not do so faster than most other students in the program also advances, but will not skip any lessons. Students never return to the program solely because they work slowly.
