Assigning a Lesson

Assigning lessons in iSPIRE is a simple process that ensures your students receive targeted instruction and practice. This guide and the accompanying video will walk you through the steps to navigate the library, select the appropriate lesson and experience type, and assign it to your entire class or specific students.

Selecting the Class

• Choose the class to which you want to assign a lesson.

Assigning the Lesson

• Click the blue plus button next to "Experiences" in the library section.

• Navigate through the library to find the appropriate level and lesson of iSPIRE for your class or group based on placement test results.

Choosing the Experience

• Select the type of experience for the lesson (introductory, reinforcing, or independent work).

• Click the "Assign" button once you find the correct lesson and experience.

Setting Lesson Details

• In the assignment details, you can add personal notes and set the end date and time for the lesson completion.

• Note that the default end time is the same day, 1 hour after the assignment, but you may choose to extend this if you expect the lesson to take longer.

Adding Students to the Assignment

• Click on "Step 2" and select "Entire Class" to include all students in this assignment.

• If necessary, deselect any students who should not be included in this lesson (e.g., absent students).

Finalizing the Assignment

• In "Step 3," click the "Assign" button to finalize the assignment.

• Repeat these steps to assign the "independent work" experience that complements the lesson, including any concept drills or assessments needed for the students.
