Adjusting Reading Assistant Settings

Teachers have control over language settings and other preferences for students through the "Settings" button on the Growth Dashboard.
Adjusting Student Tutoring Settings
- From the Growth dashboard, click the "Settings" button, then the "Tutor Settings" tab.


- In the Student Language column, choose Bilingual if the student will read in
both English and Spanish or if Amira will provide Spanish tutoring support
for English texts - In the Practice Reading In column, choose which language(s) the student
will be reading when using Reading Assistant - In the English Tutor Practice Mode and Spanish Tutor Practice Mode
columns, choose Standard Practice to align with the student’s instructional
reading level. Choose Early Reader to focus on foundational reading skills - The Spanish Tutor Practice Mode column will automatically fill in N/A if
the student will not be reading in Spanish. Alternatively, you can select
Standard or Early Reader.
Adjusting Assessment Settings
Note: Some options may be impacted by district-level settings and preferences.
- From the Growth dashboard, click the "Settings" button, then the "Assessment Settings" tab.
- In the Student Language column, choose Bilingual to unlock the Spanish speaking settings. This will also impact tutoring language settings.
- In the Bilingual Configuration column, choose the appropriate language selection for each student. District Default is determined by the settings in the district's default configuration.
- In the Instructions for English Tasks column, select the language used for the English Assessment.
- In the Digital Assessment column, indicate if a student requires the Paper and Pencil option. Before using this option, confirm this with your administrator and EPS Technical Support.
